Turtle

Turtle is a big built, 1300lb 15.2hh, 11 year old, Palomino Quarter Horse Gelding. Turtle is a well traveled horse that has been ridden in several states from South Dakota to Pennslvania and has been used as a ranch horse. From herding to sorting, pasture roping and doctoring, Turtle is stout enough to pull anything that you can throw a rope on! He has been trail ridden in several states and been on camping trips. He will cross creeks, ditches, logs and navigate rough rocky areas. Turtle is a great horse for the whole family to ride and he will help build your confidence levels! We took Turtle to the schools carnival for “pony” rides and had approx 75 different kids ride Turtle. Of course they were kids running all around, under his neck, right behind his tail, their was plenty of sights to see as we were right by the dunking booth where they were throwing baseballs and dunking people in the water, lots of laughter and yelling as you would expect but nothing bothered Turtle. Turtlke is safe riding in traffic. He has a smooth jog, a nice lope, will slide stop and backs with ease! Turtle has been exposed to all kinds of wildlife such as deer or turkey or other animals like cows or dogs and will go anywhere that he is asked too. He has been rode many miles in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky and encountered every obstacle possible on the trail. He will go up or down even the steepest slopes, across deep creeks, over downed trees, and over all types of rough terrain while still being sure footed. He comes by his name honest!
